After daughter cancels her wedding in Georgia, her parents decide to hold the lavish wedding reception for 200 homeless.
At first the parents were shocked while hearing that the wedding was off. At the time the mother picked up the phone to cancel, the father said no, he decided to go with a Hosea Feed The Hungry. They invited the homeless, “it’s better to give than to receive”, said the father. So they invited “someone who may never have an opportunity to do what” that is the homeless.
The daughter arrived at the affair and said to her mother “Mom, this is so surreal”. And they hugged, at that time it created a different joy for both of them.
As Elisabeth Omlami from Hosea Feed The Hungry put it: “They brought hope to hopeless people, they brought love to people who felt not loved, they brought brightness and light to children who are living in darkness.”
“We would like to move forward with this, and have it on an annual basis, but we would like to add an educational segment to it, if we educate them, and teach them how to fish, then they can begin to feed themselves,” said the mother.
